If your FoxPro / Visual FoxPro system goes down, can you compile your program? Be prepared.
Your programmer can set up a simple batch file for you to run. If your programmer refuses to do this for you, something is wrong. You need a new programmer.
If you hired us to support your FoxPro / Visual FoxPro program, the first thing we would need to know is:
Exactly where is the project file located? Which computer did your programmer work on, a company computer or a personal laptop?
Then we would open the project file and attempt to create a new executable with a name different from your production executable. Everything in the new executable should work exactly as your existing one. If it doesn’t, you’ve got trouble. If your programmer intentionally keeps the FoxPro source code from you and has encrypted the executable, you’ve got a problem.
ERW Custom Programming can help. If you’d like to discuss your program, call (248) 683-4182 or contact us via our web form.
